Job Description
The Senior Accountant will work with the Finance group and is responsible for assisting with internal financial procedures, records and statements for compliance with laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial statements
- Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers
- Create/maintain reports for accrued expenses and revenue
- Maintain and record fixed assets
- Prepare and file local compliance reporting as necessary
- Act as a liaison for vendors to reconcile any billing discrepancies
- Lead/actively participate in process review of key weekly/monthly/quarterly financial processes (this includes documenting and improving processes)
- Improve and aide in revamping documentation processes and procedures
- Maintain and record Petty Cash Fund transactions for all sites and review petty cash receipts and submit replenishment orders to CFO.
- Be trained in and provide back up to other financial department responsibilities, such as billing/payroll
- Review the daily reconciliation of MetroCard Logs and oversee the distribution of MetroCards to NYPCC clinics
- Other assignments and projects determined by supervisor
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of related experience preferred
- Experience with Netsuite is a PLUS
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus
- Hands-on experience working with general ledgers
- Experience with Financial reporting is preferred
- Experience with billing and payroll is preferred
- Strong data entry skills
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive
- Strong organization skills with the ability to tackle competing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills used to convey to both non-technical and technical personnel
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite
Additional Information
Salary: $95,000 - $120,000 per year
Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
