Job Description

The Training Coordinator directly assists the Human Resources (HR) Team with a wide range of projects related to NYPCC Academy Training initiatives, as well as HR-related projects.

  • Research, schedule, and coordinate NYPCC Academy training
  • Assist with creating training presentations for designated NYPCC Academy classes
  • Moderate NYPCC Academy training, as needed
  • Process training registrations ensuring prerequisites are met where applicable
  • Provide virtual and on-site onboarding training for frontline positions
  • Update employee records in HRIS with training records
  • Report monthly on training completions to HR Manager
  • Add training attendance records to spreadsheet for payroll processing
  • Create and distribute training certificates to attendees and request training feedback
  • Assist HR Manager in the setup and maintenance of training plans established for employees in Relias training system and review quarterly
  • Report and track mandatory training, following up with management as needed to ensure completion
  • Create flyers and marketing materials for training events
  • Track and report weekly on existing project/task status
  • Adhere to state and federal labor laws, rules, and regulations
  • Work directly with the HR Manager to provide administrative support and assist with ad-hoc Human Resources projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Strong writing, research skills, confidence, and personal accountability
  • Excellent time management skills and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Creative with flyers and branding and social media savvy
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstration of professionalism
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that are timely and effective
  • Able to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Maintains a positive attitude and is friendly, upbeat, and has a great “can do” personality
  • Thrives in evolving, fast-paced, high-change, dynamic organizations
  • Passionate about NYPCC’s mission and values
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle to travel to the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens

Additional Information

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Travel:

Travel between main office and other NYPCC program locations is required and occurs primarily during the business day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Direct Reports:

This position reports to the Human Resources Generalist. 

Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
