Job Description

Summary of Position:

Provide support for the overall maintenance effort in a timely manner.  Perform corrective and preventive maintenance.  Train subordinate and peer mechanics as part of the formal training program.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for having a firm knowledge of machining processes and equipment.  Must be able to fabricate parts from print and from samples.                                                         
  • Responsible for staying abreast of current company policies as they relate to safety, USDA, environmental issues, etc.  Will promote safety in the work place and apply teamwork approach to all tasks.       
  • Will insure that industry standard work habits are incorporated into all job tasks.  Maintain good attendance and advise Maintenance Management of any tardiness or need to leave early.    
  • Responsible for providing well arranged documentation of work tasks and maintaining the CMMS effort.
  • Will be aware of the fact that maintenance is a service group and must strive to do "quality work".  This means meeting the requirements of our "customers", the production and other support departments.
  • Fabricate parts using a variety of machine-tool  
  • Perform specialized repair and maintenance to enhance equipment performance and reliability. Machine parts such as drilling and tapping.
  • Select materials, tooling and machinery to and worn tooling. Fabricate custom fit parts or parts from drawings.
  • Evaluate machine and tooling condition and equipment on a daily basis. Provide advice on root cause analysis of failures.
  • Be able to disassemble, inspect and restore broken and worn tooling
  • Complete all work order related paperwork in a timely fashion including timecards in support of the CMMS.
  • Take part in the housekeeping effort pertaining to the maintenance areas and facility in general.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  •  2+ years relevant work experience

 Working Conditions: Working inside an active food manufacturing facility environment.
