Out of its Revere, MA facility, the Company manufactures, sells and distributes many well-known brands nationally such as Sweethearts, NECCO Wafers, Mary Jane, Mighty Malts, Clark, Skybar and many others. Job Description

This Regional Sales Manager position is responsible for the sales of all NECCO products through Brokers and direct customers in this region. This region is made up of several brokers in the geography. The geography is adjustable but currently is all of the East from
Maine to Florida and includes all channels of customers. This position will function as the
Company’s primary representative of the region, having a high degree of autonomy and accountability for sales volume, trade spending and profit of that region. Up to 60% business travel is required; with a minimum of 2 days per month working retail. This person Reports to the VP of National Sales.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Functions as the Company’s primary representative in the specified region and is held accountable for sales volumes and the proper management of the trade budget

  • Oversees and provides clear direction and oversight of the Company’s sales and marketing activities, with direct presentations to the top retailers and all brokers within the region

  • Manages and supervises broker communications to customers

  • Explores new channels and creative ideas for incremental TDPs

  • Aligns all professional objectives with the sales organization and the Company’s goals and vision

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, internally and externally. Bring Innovation to market from idea inception to shelf placement

  • Projections of revenue and spending are essential to insure inventory staging of product needs.

  • Hands on work calling on retailers with our broker partners is a key to our success

Qualifications

Minimum degree and experience required:

  • Bachelor degree and/or equivalent experience required

  • Must have a minimum of ten years successful confection, snack or like sales experience, preferably involving broker sales management and supervision

  • Must have a minimum of five years of C-store experience and demonstrated success

  • Working knowledge of the distribution system used by Confections

  • Proven ability to execute an effective marketing & sales strategy; can analyze the competitive landscape, define a course of action and meet the needs of brokers, distributors, and customers

  • Ability to forecast and communicate weekly volume and spending information


Specific competencies required:

  • Intermediate computer skills; knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint required, along with the ability to understand/analyze syndicated data such as IRI.

  • Persuasive and influential sales communication skills; understands audience and adjusts communication to drive desired results

  • Should be a highly motivated and organized self-starter who strives for excellence and thrives in an independent work environment; should also possess strong planning skills and be disciplined in time management

  • Must be a solid strategic thinker who can decisively prioritize competing demands and assess multiple outcomes with limited information

  • Must possess a presence that fosters positive interactions within all levels of the broker and trade management community

  • Should have business maturity, impeccable personal integrity and be committed to ongoing individual professional development

  • Must have excellent attention to detail and communication skills
