A day in the life of a Cobol Developer

We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer with a strong background in core banking to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing and maintaining loans applications. Knowledge of CICS and JCL is desirable.

Your main duties will be:

• Design, develop and maintain applications using COBOL (z/OS).
• Work closely with the loans application team to understand business requirements and implement solutions.
• Write efficient and scalable code.
• Debug and resolve any technical issues that arise in the production environment.
• Ensure all code is thoroughly tested and meets quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

If you have

• Working experience in Mainframe Development with COBOL.
• Hands-on experience with core banking, specifically loans applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field will be considered as a plus
• Knowledge of CICS and JCL is highly desirable.
