A day in the life of a Monitoring Analyst

As an IT Systems Monitoring Analyst, you will be part of a high-performing, cross-functional and Agile team responsible for monitoring and reporting the capacity audits and the changes in the capacity of the systems, the achievement of service availability  and inventory management targets, in real time.

Your main duties will be:

o Monitor and Report on:

• The available applications in the CMDB and other databases.
• The usage, license model and cost effectiveness of the applications.

o Assist the client in:

• Analyzing availability-related incidents and problems, and their root cause
• Creating an initial capacity analysis report before the take-over of a new system by the Contractor
• Defining relevant KPIs for inventory management

o Proactively provide recommendations to the client regarding:

• The impact of changes on the Availability Plan
• The measurement for improvement the availability of services
• The purchase, maintenance and decommissioning of the client’s application assets

If you have:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in the defined area of expertise
• Experience in Monitoring Tools such as Nagios
• Solid expertise in monitoring tasks through the monitoring tool to which it has access
• Experience in monitoring and reporting in the domains of system availability, system capacity, and system inventory
• Experience in carrying out audits and assessments of hardware components
• Proficient knowledge of the IT concepts and architectures (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks, etc.)
• ITIL Foundation certified
• Evidence of strong ability to collaborate in teams and build relationships
• Strong communication skills
• Experience and willingness of working in an international/multicultural environment
• Ability to proactively take ownership of tasks to be managed and propose improvements and recommendations
• Fluency in English, written and spoken
