Position Purpose: The Accounting Intern role is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience within a fast-paced manufacturing accounting environment. This position focuses primarily on supporting the Physical Inventory of Fixed Assets, offering the intern valuable exposure to real-world accounting processes, internal controls, and asset management procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the physical inventory count of fixed assets across the manufacturing facility
- Tag, identify, and verify fixed assets against the fixed asset register
- Reconcile physical inventory results to accounting records and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with data entry and high-volume transactional processing related to fixed assets
- Prepare and maintain organized supporting schedules and audit-ready documentation
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and procurement teams to verify asset information
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting procedures
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- Prior classroom exposure to ERP concepts.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
