Purpose

The APU Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and management of the Autonomous Production Unit (APU). This includes the inception, development, and successful implementation of programs aimed at optimizing costs, product quality, and delivery times while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

The APU Manager creates production operations that promote customer quality and delivery satisfaction. Using lean manufacturing techniques, organize and lead programs to continuously improve production operations for productivity, quality, safety, inventory levels, and operating expenses. This role supports any transformational projects related to the area and fosters relationship-building with customers. The manager is accountable for operations performance within their area, including health and safety, operational KPIs, and people management (e.g., absenteeism). He develops analysis of gaps and leads teams to deliver results through problem-solving sessions.

The APU Manager defines and follows up on budgets, including KPIs and financial targets, ensures operations deliver quality on time in full, and facilitates smooth cooperation for industrialization projects (e.g., PQ, NPI stages) and interfaces for escalation as needed. They are responsible for people development in line with business objectives and staffing levels, monitoring budget spending for training, and evaluating team performance. The manager ensures IT systems adhere to standards and escalates issues as necessary.

Managerial Responsibilities: The APU Manager conducts human resources management processes for their team, including goal setting, performance evaluation, salary reviews, skills development plans, and engagement surveys. Implementing the managerial practices to build a favorable environment, develop people, foster commitment, encourage cooperation at all levels, define the vision, and stimulate performance.

Position Requirements

• Supervisory and leadership experience in a production environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Experience in change management
• Experience with LEAN manufacturing
• Experience in quality, continuous improvement, and supply chain

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
