Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively as a part of multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, industrial designers, researchers, interaction designers and prototyping experts
- Oversee and guide engineering efforts across multiple programs
- Identify potential problems early and suggest options based upon cost, time and requirements
- Understand priorities to develop and communicate action plans internally and externally
- Contribute engineering knowledge on technical feasibility early in programs and provide manufacturing and commercialization guidance as programs mature
- Solve complex technical problems within the bounds of timing and cost constraints
- Design, build and test prototypes to characterize performance
- Translate the output of concept and prototyping efforts into fully realized, detailed designs while working under design controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 5-15 years of professional experience in product development engineering design
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Experience with a range of prototyping and manufacturing methods, especially injection molding
- Experienced in managing all technical aspects of device development programs
- Experience developing medical or drug delivery devices
- Desire to design, build, test, and troubleshoot physical prototypes, including electronics and electromechanics
- Proficient with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
