Job Description

Position Purpose: The Maintenance Technician – Auxiliary is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairs on various types of auxiliary equipment and auxiliary molding support equipment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions 
  • Read, use, and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools 
  • Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment 
  • Check and maintain quality of product being produced by identifying acceptable and non-acceptable product in accordance with Quality policies and procedures 
  • Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement 
  • Follow all 5S guidelines  
  • Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tables 
  • Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules 
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical malfunction on a variety of machines  
  • Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment, including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, thermolators and hose replacement
  • Input Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP)  
  • Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues  
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, or as required preventive maintenance (PM)  
  • Perform root cause analysis for safety and quality
  • Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment
  • Comply with all company policies  
  • Must be able to fluently operate auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and to verify repairs. 
  • Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment. 
  • Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed. 
  • Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. 
  • Maintains good communications with Maintenance Leader  
  • Maintains ongoing list of CMMS work orders with timeline to be addressed and completed. 
  • Assists other maintenance personnel as needed, 
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. 
  • Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion. 
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on maintenance related position
  • Experience in electrical, pneumatics and light fabrication
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movements 
  • Ability to push and pull items and climb up and down ladders 
  • Ability to stand and/or walk up to constantly during the shift

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Experience with plastics auxiliary machinery, metal seperators, blenders,thermolators, material dryers and material pumps preferred
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferred 
  • Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions required 
  • Must be mechanically inclined and can use basic hand tools 
  • Must have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a clean manufacturing environment that may include moderate noise levels and required appropriate PPE and cleanroom apparel
