Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Serve as subject matter expert for all Nemera US benefit plans. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state legislation, including ERISA, DOL and IRS guidelines, COBRA, ACA, FMLA and HIPAA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor bills and work with the Finance team for timely payments.
  • Serve as a main contact for benefit plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Administer new hire benefits enrollments, and terminations, including COBRA administration and maintain employee benefit records and group benefits database in compliance with company and local/federal policies.
  • Support employees at all levels with benefit enrollments, plan year changes, and annual enrollment changes in the HRIS system (UKG PRO)
  • Oversee and resolve inquiries associated with integration file feeds from UKG PRO to vendors and addresses discrepancy reports.
  • Lead the annual open enrollment process - pre and post enrollment cycle.
  • Design and distribute materials for new hire orientations and open enrollment.
  • Resolve employee benefit related inquiries in a timely manner, with customer mindset.
  • Complete annual non-discrimination testing and 401(k) plan audits.
  • Develop plan analytics, including preparation of reports, materials, and presentations.
  • Participates in strategic benefit review vendor performance sessions and manages benefit vendor performance on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintains compliance calendar for required notices and related mailings, government filings, etc.
  • Implementation and maintenance of all administration and compliance aspects of health and welfare, retirement, and ancillary benefit programs, including planning and communication.
  • In partnership with HR team, identify benefits communication needs, ensure benefit programs are communicated effectively to drive employee awareness and benefits program utilization. This may include writing, editing content and disseminating material through various media channels.
  • Works with internal and external legal, payroll, brokers, consultants, and vendors to ensure government filings, PPACA/PCORI fees, Transitional Reinsurance Fees, Employer Mandate hours tracking/reporting, plan documents, reports and notices, file feeds, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan filings, policies and company procedures are up to date with current government requirements.
  • Participates in due diligence and manages integrations related to merger and acquisition activity.
  • Other duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-year degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or similar discipline.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Benefit Administration, including 401(K) Plans
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience 
  • Experience supporting Manufacturing or similar environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirement both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, IRS regulations, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of UKG Pro strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, written and verbal skills.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail, problem solving, decision making and follow-through skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in an office and manufacturing environment with moderate noise level.
  • Must wear PPE when entering warehouse and manufacturing areas. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
