  • Full-time

Job Description

As a Digital Designer at Nearmap, you will be the driving force behind how our brand comes to life across digital channels, translating creative vision into web pages, campaign assets, and digital experiences that are both visually compelling and built to perform.

Working closely with the Senior Creative Designer, you'll translate brand and campaign concepts into compelling digital experiences — designing with a strong understanding of UX, web behaviour, and how people engage with content online.

You own the digital execution: ensuring everything we build is consistent, considered, and conversion-aware.

You will partner with our Growth, Content, and Portfolio Marketing teams to produce and scale digital assets across channels, from landing pages and display advertising to email and social, helping Nearmap show up with impact at every stage of the buyer journey. Your work will directly influence how prospects and customers experience Nearmap online, making this a role where design craft and commercial thinking go hand in hand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimise campaign landing pages and web pages that balance strong visual storytelling with conversion best-practice, working within and building new components in our CMS, Storyblok.
  • Respond to briefs from across the marketing team to produce high-quality digital assets including display ads, social graphics, email templates, and web visuals that are on-brand and built to perform.
  • Scale campaign assets efficiently across formats, sizes, and channels, producing work that is consistent, well-crafted, and delivered on time.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Creative Designer to translate campaign concepts and brand direction into polished digital executions, ensuring creative vision is faithfully brought to life in the digital space.
  • Apply UX thinking to every digital touchpoint — considering how users move through pages, interact with content, and convert, not just how things look.
  • Champion brand consistency across all digital outputs, ensuring Nearmap's visual identity is applied accurately and with care across every channel and asset type.
  • In partnership with Digital team and Growth Marketing, monitor and optimise, A/B testing digital assets performance data and engagement metrics, iterating on designs to improve conversion results over time.
  • Familiar with AI production to scale where appropriate with templates.
  • Create new components and add into the asset library within Storyblok.
  • Support the management of external design contributors where work is outsourced, ensuring quality and brand standards are met.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in digital design, ideally within a B2B, SaaS, or tech environment
  • Strong proficiency in Figma, it's your everyday tool for design, prototyping, and collaboration
  • Solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • A good eye for UX, you think about how people move through a page and engage with content, not just how it looks
  • Experience designing for web, with an understanding of how your designs translate into build. You can work alongside developers without needing to code
  • Comfort working within a component-based CMS environment, we use Storyblok, and while direct experience isn't essential, you'll need to be confident building and configuring visual components and thinking in reusable, structured blocks
  • Experience designing and optimising landing pages with conversion in mind
  • Ability to manage multiple briefs simultaneously, hit deadlines, and maintain quality under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, you can articulate your design decisions clearly and take feedback constructively
  • A portfolio that demonstrates range across web, digital campaigns, and scaled asset production.

Skills:

  • Solid grasp of graphic design principles — typography, colour theory, layout, and visual hierarchy — applied with a digital-first mindset
  • Strong understanding of UX and web design principles, including how design decisions affect user behaviour, page flow, and conversion
  • Confident working within a component-based CMS — you can build, configure, and quality-check pages independently and think in reusable, structured blocks rather than one-off executions
  • Skilled at asset production and scaling — you can take a concept and efficiently produce it across multiple formats, sizes, and channels without losing quality or consistency
  • Clear and collaborative communicator — you ask the right questions when briefed, flag issues early, and present your work with enough context for stakeholders to give useful feedback
  • Organised and self-directed — you manage your own workload, juggle multiple briefs, and deliver on time without needing to be chased
  • Data-aware — you can read basic performance metrics and use them to inform design iterations and landing page optimisation
  • Interest in technology!
  • Familiarity with design systems and brand guidelines — you follow them carefully, contribute to
  • them thoughtfully, and know when to flag that something needs evolving

Bonus points for:

  • Motion or video editing skills
  • HTML/CSS awareness — you don't need to code, but understanding how components are built helps you design smarter
  • Direct experience with Storyblok or a similar headless CMS

Personal Attributes:

  • Team Player: You thrive in collaborative environments and genuinely enjoy working closely with creatives, marketers, and developers to bring ideas to life. You're easy to brief, responsive, and a positive presence on the team.
  • Curiosity and Learning Mindset: You stay across digital design trends, emerging tools, and web best-practice — not because you have to, but because you're genuinely interested in getting better at your craft.
  • Digital Native: You think in digital first. You understand how people behave online, what makes a page scroll-stopping versus scroll-past, and how good design and good performance go hand in hand.
  • Attention to Detail: You're meticulous about the quality of your work — pixel-perfect when it matters, consistent with brand, and thorough in how you QA your own outputs before they go live.
  • Craft-Driven: You take real pride in the quality of what you produce. You care about getting the details right — typography, spacing, hierarchy — and hold yourself to a high standard even on the smaller briefs.
  • Adaptable and Organised: You're comfortable juggling multiple briefs at different stages, pivoting when priorities shift, and finding a way to deliver quality work even when timelines are tight.
  • Positive Collaborator: You take feedback well, communicate openly, and make the people around you better by showing up with energy, reliability, and a genuine willingness to help.

Tertiary Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design, or a related field
  • What matters most is your portfolio. A strong body of work that demonstrates digital design craft, range, and an ability to execute across web and campaign.
