The Senior manager performs the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Maintaining accounting records for revenue from educational, research, and other services provided by the University;
2. Timely issuance of electronic invoices (ESF) and preparation of primary accounting documents;
3. Ensuring the accuracy and timely recording of service-related transactions;
4. Reviewing and approving contracts, internal documents, and payments within the assigned area of responsibility;
5. Monitoring the timely preparation of acts of services rendered and compliance with contractual deadlines;
6. Performing reconciliations of accounting accounts and monitoring and clearing accounts receivable and accounts payable;
7. Preparing data for accounting, statistical, and financial reporting;
8. Participating in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS;
9. Liaising with structural units and government authorities on matters related to accounting, VAT, and revenue from services;
10. Participating in inventory counts and ensuring proper document management within the assigned area of responsibility.

Education

- Higher professional education in accounting and auditing or finance and economics;

- an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) DipIFR / ACCA / CPA certificate is required; 

- a valid Professional Accountant Certificate of the Republic of Kazakhstan is required.

Work experience

- At least 5 years of work experience in the specialty in large organizations, preferably in educational, research, or international companies;

- at least 3 years of work experience if holding a master’s degree in fields relevant to the functional areas of this position.

Knowledge required to perform duties:

- knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);

- knowledge of labor and tax legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rules and forms of tax reporting, and practices of tax audits and inspections;

- good understanding of Information Technology (IT) in the field of accounting;

- knowledge of the tax software of the Committee of State Revenues of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- analytical skills;

- proficiency in 1C, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint;

- knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the status of Nazarbayev University”, “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools”, “Nazarbayev Fund”, and other legislative and regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of higher education.
