The Center for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) provides support to foster excellence in learning and teaching, and innovative learning at Nazarbayev University.
Job Description
- coordinates and administers the plans and initiatives developed within the Center for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (hereinafter - CILT) - including relevant strategies, policies and guidelines;
- guides developments in online and blended learning in collaboration with colleagues in the ILH and Schools;
- supports and guides Schools and the wider University in the development and effective utilization of innovative learning spaces;
- consolidates requests for budget to support the projects and initiatives of the CILT;
- timely and properly executes the tasks of the line manager and the University's management;
- observes the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Employer’s internal documents;
- is responsible for exercising labor and performance discipline;
- is responsible for ensuring the integrity of official documents, and prevention of the disclosure or leakage of confidential and business information, as well as information of restricted access in accordance with the legislation, Charter and internal documents of the Employer;
- in case of dismissal, is responsible for timely transfer of all paper documentation, digital information, inventory to another employee as instructed by the line manager (to be certified by the act of acceptance-transfer).
This position reports to the General Director of CILT.
Qualifications
Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction;
Priority: Master’s degree in education, instructional design or closely related discipline.
Prior experience in educational administration and/or entry-level teaching experience are preferable.
Work experience must meet the following requirements:
Required work experience is defined in accordance with standard qualifications for administrative positions at the autonomous organization of education “Nazarbayev University”.
With a Bachelor degree, work experience should be at least 3 years in the areas corresponding to the functional areas of the position, international and/or national companies, or at least 2 years of work experience at the Nazarbayev University.
With a Master’s degree, professional experience should be not less than 1 year in the areas corresponding to functional areas of the position.

In order to fulfill above mentioned functions, ILO will perform the following duties:
- supports faculty in the design of innovative courses;
- designs and delivers training events on issues related to innovative teaching and learning;
- produces multimedia artifacts to promote innovative teaching on campus and beyond;
- mentors, and guides the development of, junior staff within ILH;
- produces proposals and plans for the development of innovative learning spaces.
