Job Description
Nazarbayev University's School of Engineering and Digital Sciences invites applications for an Instructor position in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering to begin in August 2025 for the period of replacement of the temporarily absent employee.
We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching. The selected candidate is expected to support the Department’s programs, with a focus on teaching undergraduate Chemical Engineering Lab courses, as well as covering courses for the Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering Program, such as Anatomy and Physiology for Biomedical Engineering.
The Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering has graduated its first UG class in 2015 and has recently moved into brand new 2000 m2 facilities and state of the art laboratories. The Department offers Bachelor's, MSc and PhD programs, and attracts some of the best students in Kazakhstan. Areas of research activity include Chemical Engineering, Advanced Materials Engineering, Materials and Systems for Energy Generation, Conversion and Storage; Environmental Protection, Remediation and Resource Efficiency; Risk Analysis, Aerosol and Climate Sciences; Multiscale Materials Modelling and Processing and Biomedical Engineering. Since Fall 2018, the Department had adopted ABET-compliant undergraduate course of study and a new research-intensive two-year MSc Program in Chemical and Materials Engineering and a second MSc Program in Biomedical Engineering.

Qualifications
A bachelor/diploma in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field is required as well as a Master's degree in Chemical or Biomedical Engineering.
