Job Description
The Senior Manager performs the following duties and responsibilities:
Engages in the development and coordination of activities to attract applicants to Foundation, Undergraduate, Master and PhD programs (hereinafter - academic programs). The above includes participation in educational exhibitions and conferences, organization of guest lectures by University lecturers and staff, and information sessions both within the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad. He/ she also coordinates NU Day format events and co-operates with external partners for joint recruitment events;
2) Establishes and maintains working relations with the University divisions and schools, as well as with external partners, educational institutions, government agencies, and international organizations to implement recruitment activities, organizes negotiations on joint implementation of activities, and monitors the fulfillment of partner obligations;
3) Provides personalized consultations to applicants, their parents, and representatives of educational organizations, and conducts and coordinates the work of the Applicant Support Centre;
4) Responsible for the formation, coordination, and control of the Division's budget execution. Also includes the preparation of financial reports, submission of proposals for optimizing budget expenditure items, and analysis of the efficiency of budget fund usage;
5) Analyses the effectiveness of recruitment activities organized by the Division and prepares final reports. Additionally, develops recommendations for improving recruitment processes and implements measures to achieve the University's goals;
6) Provides suggestions, ideas, and feedback for developing the Division's plans and developing the recruiting plan;
7) Makes proposals to improve the efficiency of applicants’ recruitment processes and optimize the University's business processes as a whole;
8) Engages and coordinates the work of the university's ambassadors, and interacts with external agents to promote the university's academic programs both locally and internationally;
9) Organizes and conducts tours of the University's campus, laboratories, and schools for target audiences including applicants, their parents, educational representatives, and international visitors;
10) Provides support to the responsible structural division in processing applicants' applications.
Qualifications
Education
Higher education, preferably in education, management, international relations, or other related field;
A Master's degree in a relevant field (education, management, or other related field, or equivalent) is preferably;
A diploma from a higher education institution where English is a language of instruction is preferred.
Work experience
Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience, including experience working in educational institutions, and universities, in organizing and coordinating events and students, and experience working with external partners, and educational agents, including international cooperation in the field of education, preferably aimed at attracting applicants;
Minimum of three (3) years with a Master's degree in student recruitment, recruiting, or project management.
Knowledge
Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of education;
Knowledge of and proficiency in English, Kazakh, and Russian;
High level of knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Skills
Project management: experience in managing multi-tasking projects, including planning, monitoring, risk management and reporting;
Analytical: the ability to use information from multiple sources and make recommendations for policy or rule changes, as well as preparing analytical memos, reports, and proposals to optimize processes within the Division;
Problem-solving: application of professional judgment in solving complex and non-routine problems related to recruitment and event management;
Policy and regulatory analysis: the ability to analyze policies, rules, and procedures in the relevant area of activity, and develop proposals to optimize them;
Intercultural interaction: the ability to work with representatives of different cultures, nationalities, and professional spheres to achieve joint goals;
Communications: well-developed communication skills to interact with applicants, their parents, educational organizations and external partners;
Presentations: ability to make presentations in Russian, Kazakh, and English, including online and offline formats.
