Company Description

The E-Resources Management Office provides the Nazarbayev University community with electronic resources to support academic and research activities. 

Job Description

1)    participates in the organization of the acquisition of the library fund with electronic resources;
2)    prepares documentation for procurement/subscriptions of electronic resources, and keeps records of funds allocated for the purchase of electronic resources within his/her competence, under contracts initiated by the employee, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes and other tools that support the learning process;
3)    participates in the formation of the budget application of the E-Resources Management Office (hereinafter - the "Office") for the corresponding financial year in accordance with the budget items administered by the Office;
4)    organizes the connection of test accesses (trials) to electronic resources, evaluates the electronic resource and collects statistics on its use;
5)    collects statistics on the use of electronic resources according to key indicators, deals with documentation, and advises the Head of the Office and the Library management when making decisions on the renewal/ cancellation of subscriptions to electronic resources or when deciding on the inclusion of new titles in the list of subscribers (based on data on the results of test access, where applicable);
6)    conducts active interaction with Subject Librarians in the selection of electronic resources, and making a decision on the renewal / cancellation of subscriptions;
7)    keeps records of purchased electronic resources and granted access to electronic resources for users of the Division;
8)    is responsible for receiving, keeping records and processing applications via e-mail, memos, direct requests from Subject Librarians for the purchase/subscription of electronic resources, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes and other tools that support the learning process; 
9)    is in contact with publishers, vendors, agencies and other representatives of electronic resources to ensure continuous access to them, to organize training webinars;
10)    collects statistics on the use of electronic resources and interacts with Subject Librarians when selecting electronic resources, and making a decision on the renewal/cancellation of subscriptions;
11)     provides consulting and methodological assistance on issues within the competence of the Office, if necessary;
12)    makes proposals on the use of funds allocated for the purchase of electronic resources, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes and other tools supporting the learning process;
 

Qualifications

Higher professional education, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction. Three years minimum of work experience. Minimum one year with master`s degree in the relevant area.

Additional Information

Fluent in English, Kazakh, Russian.
