Nazarbayev University School of Medicine, established in 2015, is being developed in partnership with the University Of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and offers a US-style curriculum taught in English. NUSOM’s mission is to educate a new generation of clinically skilled and research-focused physicians prepared for leadership positions in research, education, and clinical care to improve the health of individuals in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and around the world.

Job Description

  • Development of contracts and agreements with clinics, preparation and submission of reports, invoices, acts of rendered services, and other related documents.
  • Interaction with doctors and other personnel of clinics.
  • Interaction with faculty to schedule student rotations at the School for the upcoming academic year.
  • Participation in the preparation and approval of the School's monthly and annual budget within their competence.
  • Preparation of budget execution reports for the School's segments within their competence.
  • Assisting in resolving the School's operational issues.
  • Monitoring compliance with the University's internal regulatory documents on matters within their competence.
  • Providing consultative and methodological assistance to the School's staff and students on matters within their competence.
  • Planning and organizing School events.
  • Participation in the processes of identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring risks within the supervised area.
  • Corresponding within the scope of their functional duties.
  • Assisting in the implementation of the School's and University's operational plans within the scope of their functional duties.
  • Timely and quality fulfillment of duties and functions assigned by the contract and this techical specification, as well as assignments from the Dean of the School and the Administrative Director, and the University administration.
  • Ensuring the security of official documentation, maintaining the confidentiality of information, and non-disclosure of restricted information as required by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the University's Charter, and internal documents.
  • Complying with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the University's internal documents.
  • Adhering to safety and labor protection norms, rules, and instructions, including mandatory medical examinations as determined by the University and provided by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Qualifications

Education

Higher professional education, preferably in higher educational institutions with English language of instruction;
Priority areas of specialties:

  • Finance
  • Economics
  • Public health
  • Management
  • Law

Work experience

  • With a Master's degree: at least 2 years of relevant work experience in areas corresponding to the functional directions of this position; or
  • With a Bachelor's or specialist degree: at least 4 years of relevant work experience in areas corresponding to the functional directions of this position.

Knowledge and skills

  • Skills in document management in both the state and English languages.
  • Skills in preparing financial reporting documentation.
  • Budgeting skills.
  • High analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication in the state language, Russian, and English.
  • Legal literacy.
  • High proficiency in using a PC (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, 1C: Enterprise).
