Company Description

The E-Resources Management Office provides the Nazarbayev University community with electronic resources to support academic and research activities. 

Job Description

1)    participates in the organization of completing the Library Fund with electronic resources;
2)    purchases electronic resources, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes and other tools that support the learning process;
3)    initiates the procedure of procurement;
4)    controls the procedure for procurement;
5)     controls purchased electronic resources and control of funds (in terms of purchases made by a Senior Manager) allocated for the purchase of electronic resources, as well as control of their use;
6)    participates in the formation of the budget request of the E-Resources Management Office   (hereinafter - the “Office”) for the corresponding financial year by the administered budget items;
7)    prepares the documentation for purchasing/subscribing to electronic resources, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes, and other tools that support the learning process;
8)    keeps records of purchased electronic resources, including collections of e-books, databases of electronic journals, access codes, and other tools that support the learning process;
9)    keeps records of funds allocated for the purchase of electronic resources within the framework of initiated purchases, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes and other tools that support the learning process, as well as their use;
 

Qualifications

Education: Higher professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction.

Work experience: Five years minimum.
Minimum three years with a master`s degree in the relevant area.

Knowledge: 

-    paper writing skills;
-    understanding the organizational structure of information activities, broad general cultural training;
-    knowledge of the information market of electronic resources;
-    knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint programs;
-    fluent in English, Kazakh and Russian.

Skills: 

-    skills in working with business documentation;
-    skills in forming budget requests, drafting and maintaining contracts;
- skills in developing training and seminars, participation as an instructor in seminars on broadcasting best practices in librarianship;
- analytical skills (the ability to use information from multiple sources to inform the Head about trends and recommend Policy or Rule changes;
- interpersonal skills;
- ability to work in a team.
