Nazarbayev University School of Medicine, established in 2015, is being developed in partnership with the University Of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and offers a US-style curriculum taught in English. NUSOM’s mission is to educate a new generation of clinically skilled and research-focused physicians prepared for leadership positions in research, education, and clinical care to improve the health of individuals in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and around the world.
Job Description
1) Provide supervision to entry-level or mid-level professional or qualified technical employees;
2) Serve as an advisor to the unit and administration and sets goals and objectives for team members to achieve operational results;
3) Organize training activities for employees of the University and affiliated organizations, as well as students from other medical organizations;
4) Responsible for the development of simulation rooms through the formation of a centralized model of the educational process for the use of modern technologies for mastering and improving practical skills (special dummies, phantoms and simulators, virtual (computer) simulators that ensure the creation of the reality of medical interventions and procedures). Mastering practical skills and abilities in a simulation environment, adequate effective actions in standard, emergency and non-standard situations when providing medical and first (emergency) aid, acquiring real experience in an artificial environment;
5) Organize activities to provide resuscitation training (BLS, ACLS, PALS);
6) Supervises, develops and evaluates the Center personnel;
7) Continuously works to improve processes to create an environment that supports teaching and learning and ensures smooth day-to-day operations;
8) Develops and implements workflows for simulation programs;
9) Performs budget forecasting and expense tracking under management control;
10) Maintains current knowledge of cutting-edge simulation methodologies and technologies;
11) Responsible for a standardized patient program including preparation of script materials, orientation planning, and other on-site preparations;
12) Responsible to arrange tours of the Center and its affiliated training sites to faculty, sponsors, potential students/families and the community;
13) Oversees technology and equipment procurement and capital procurement used in the simulation program;
14) Prepares reports and records on the Center activities, progress and status upon request;
15) Provides interaction with foreign partners for the development of joint projects and/or procurement;
16) Timely and properly execution of tasks of the Line manager and the University`s management;
17) Compliance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and internal documents of the University;
18) Ensures compliance with labor and performance discipline in the Center and its affiliated training sites
19) Ensures compliance by the personnel of the Center and its affiliated training sites with the provisions of internal documents of the University, which are generally binding;
20) Responsible for ensuring the integrity of official documents, and prevention of the disclosure or leakage of confidential and business information, as well as information of restricted access in accordance with the legislation, Charter, and internal documents of the University;
Qualifications
Education:
Higher medical education, preferably in higher educational institutions with English language of instruction;
Having a specialist certificate;
Education in the specialty “Anesthesiology and Resuscitation” is preferred.
Work experience:
At least 10 years of work experience in government and medical organizations is required;
Required work experience is defined in accordance with standard qualifications for administrative positions at the autonomous organization of education "Nazarbayev University".

- Good knowledge of the current situation and trends in medical education, science and health care in Kazakhstan and internationally (ie Japan, United States and other developed countries)
- Skills to coordinate on a constructive basis the activities of several organizations of different profiles;

- Analytical skills;
- Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint programs;
- Fluency in English, Kazakh, Russian languages
