Job Description

Senior Manager performs the following duties and responsibilities:

1)    develops, plans, conducts, coordinates, implements, evaluates and reports on the Graduate Application Advising Program (hereinafter - GAAP), namely:
-    develops and implements a systemic approach to evaluate the quality of GAAP;
-    conducts and evaluates workshops on graduate application;
-    develops and constantly updates country profiles of higher education institutions (Europe/Americas, Asia-Pacific) and content for the Division’s website;
-    conducts career appointments on graduate application and provides assistance in student applications (application packet, selecting a University, requesting for a recommendation letter); 
-    creates a list of the University faculty, alumni, and relevant educational organizations and makes appropriate referrals in the framework of GAAP; 
-    coordinates activities among the University’s Schools, external organizations, foreign Universities in the framework of GAAP;
-    prepares and constantly updates the resources including Document Library in CareerNet, the Division’s website and LibGuide (including funding, country portfolio and graduate/post graduate opportunities); 
-    creates and manages the database, surveys and tracks student applications, acceptances and enrolment in coordination with managers and faculty of the University’s Schools and other divisions.
2)    manages the University’s Alumni Relations (Graduate outreach), namely:
-    develops, implements strategies and tactics to increase affinity of the University’s alumni,  ensures alignment with the current University’s strategies and goals;
-    designs, organizes, conducts, coordinates alumni events and activities for and/by alumni, including in cooperation with the University’s Alumni Association
-    Public Union Nazarbayev University Alumni (hereinafter - PU NU Alumni) to increase alumni engagement;
-    designs, coordinates, evaluates Mentorship Program and Ambassadors Program of the University;
-    engages alumni in both Employment Program, Career Development Course and NUAlumniNet platform;
-    develops and manages alumni-focused events including annual Graduation, Alumni Reunion, and other events developed to reach strategic goals of the Division;
-    reviews events on a regular basis to ensure that they contribute to strategic goals of alumni engagement;
-    сollects and promotes compelling stories about alumni.
3)    participates at coordinating the work of manager responsible for alumni database on matters related to the alumni database and reports, ensuring its quality, accuracy, and reliability;
4)    assists with collecting information on career tracks of the University’s alumni including the data from the annual graduate survey;
5)    informs the University’s alumni of the benefits and services available for them;
6)    analyses graduate status data, makes conclusions and recommendations, and generates reports on a regular basis and upon request;
7)    analyses labour market trends, conducts surveys among alumni and communicates/reports recommendations to the University’s Schools; 
8)    creates, articulates and actively promotes the University’s alumni value proposition to employers; creates, articulates and actively promotes the University’s/the Division’s value proposition to alumni;
9)    develops respective training materials and conducts career-related trainings and workshops;
10)    collects information within the specified functional area and provides inputs for the Division’s publications and social media update;
11)     cooperate with the PU NU Alumni, namely:
-    strengthens the PU NU Alumni, assists in setting up Chapters, maintaining strong relationship with alumni and providing assistance with planned events and activities;
-    jointly with PU NU Alumni, plans, organizes, and coordinates events and activities for current students and the University’s alumni for networking.
12)    participates in identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction;
13)    temporary performs the duties (replaces) of the responsible staff during his/her temporary absence (up to one month);
14) administers the process of the three year work obligation fulfillment by the University graduates, and coordinates and delegates the tasks to accountable coordinators for the three year work obligation;
15) coordinates timely submission of the students' data into the database of JSC "Financial Center";
16) administers the work of the University Job Referral Committee of young specialists within the  three year work obligation;
17) timely and properly executes the tasks of the line manager and the University`s management;
18)    observes the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Employer`s internal documents;
19)    is responsible for exercising the labour and performance discipline;
20)    is responsible for ensuring the integrity of official documents, and prevention of the disclosure or leakage of confidential and business information, as well as information of restricted access in accordance with the legislation, Charter and internal documents of the Employer;   
21)    in case of dismissal, is responsible for timely transfer of all paper documentation, digital information, inventory to another employee as instructed by the line manager (to be certified by the act of acceptance-transfer).

Qualifications

Education: Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction.

A degree preferably in:

- human resources management;

- psychology (career advising);

- business administration;

- related fields.

Work experience:

The required work experience is defined in accordance with standard qualifications for administrative positions at the autonomous organization of education “Nazarbayev University”.

Knowledge:

  • knowledge of legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of education;
