The Department of Physics at Nazarbayev University invites applications for a faculty position at the School of Sciences and Humanities. While our primary interest lies in hiring a highly qualified senior faculty at the rank of Full Professor, we also welcome applications from outstanding junior candidates applying for an Associate or Assistant Professor position.
Candidates from all areas of experimental, theoretical, and computational physics will be
considered.

Main Responsibilities

•  Active research and grant-seeking activity;
•  Teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses with the typical load of 2 courses per semester;
• Supervision of undergraduate and graduate students;
• Curricular and program development;
• Service duties;
• General program guidance and leadership;
• Other activities related to the intellectual and cultural environment of the university.

Successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

•  PhD in Physics or another quantitative field from a reputable international university;
•  Postdoctoral experience;
•  Demonstrated excellence in research and strong potential in establishing vigorous
• research program;
•  Excellent English-language communication and collaboration skills;
•  Strong instruction skills;
•  Mentoring experience in supervising students;
•  Commitment to maintain a collegial and inclusive work environment.

The initial contract be for a period of three years and is renewable for a longer term upon
