Job Description

  1. advises employees of NU and its subsidiaries on issues related to information systems;
  2. complies with the conditions for the provision of services in accordance with the established SLA;
  3. accepts and fixes applications from users in the IT HelpDesk system, controls the process of their elimination;
  4. administers the content and functionality of NU information systems/services;
  5. administers accounts and manages the level of access to NU information systems/services;
  6. monitors and checks the performance of NU information systems/services;
  7. Identifies user problems that arise when using NU information systems/services and takes measures to eliminate them;
  8. tests new functionality of NU information systems/services;
  9. performs installation and configuration of client software;
  10. interacts with employees of the Division and other structural units, Schools and organizations of the University on issues within its competence;
  11. providing a quality service to users, including interaction with users, responding to user requests and efficiently processing requests;

Qualifications

Education
Higher professional, preferably from higher education institutions with English language of instruction

Priority specializations:
- Computer Science or related field;
- Management of Information Technology;
- Engineering

Work experience
Three years min.
Minimum one year with a master's degree in the relevant area

Knowledge
-    knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of information and education;
-    knowledge of international standards in Information Technology (hereinafter - IT);
-    knowledge and skills in administration and maintenance of information systems/services;
-    ability to work with software/service for receiving, processing, and registering applications and user requests;
-    understanding of the principles of working with user requests: systematization, determination of the level of importance and priority of the request;
-    ability to analyze and identify user problems;
-    ability to work and understand technical documentation;
-    knowledge and ability to implement and maintain information systems;
-    Knowledge and experience in writing user documentation;
-    ability to conduct business correspondence;
-    Knowledge and use of the Linux operating system (desirable);
-    Knowledge and use of the Microsoft Windows Server operating system (desirable);
-    understanding of the network, software, and hardware;
-    availability of certificates in IT relevant to the performance of duties (desirable);
-    professional possession of MS Office programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
-    proficiency in English, Kazakh, and Russian languages.
