Assistance in preaward operations, particularly in identifying funding opportunities, development, preparation and submission of applications for research funding

Job Description

аssistance in identifying funding opportunities from government, industry and other local and international sources and promote them to the research community of the University;

assistance with development and preparation of applications for research funding;

review research proposals to ensure all Sponsors and University requirements have been met, confirm eligibility of applicants according to guidelines, verify that required signatures are included on all documents related to research funding applications;

communication of results on funding applications to applicants, Faculty and Senior Administration;

identification and communication award parameters and Sponsor terms and conditions to the University Faculty and Researchers, and other administrative staff;

organizing the international peer-review evaluation of research proposals to ensure that NU grant applications receive fair, independent, expert, and timely reviews;

providing learning and training opportunities for University Faculty and Researchers and staff related to grantsmanship, agency-specific info-sessions and research administration;

review of documentation, assistance in the preparation of Pre-Award policies and procedures;

participation in identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction.

Qualifications

High-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction: Natural Sciences, Medicine, Biology, Engineering, Social Science and Humanities.

For a Bachelor’s or a Specialist degree, at least 3 years of professional experience in the areas corresponding to the functional areas;

For a Master’s degree, at least 1 year of professional experience in the areas the corresponding to the functional areas of the specific position.

Additional Information

knowledge of Analytics tools (Expert LookUp or ReviewerFinder), Bibliometric tools (Scival, Scopus and Web of Science), Pure is preferable;

analytical skills (compiling predictive information based on available data), skills in preparing reports, analytical notes;

responsibility;

Excellent public speaking and writing skills in Kazakh, English and Russian

Advanced level of computer knowledge (MS Office, MS Windows, Google Instruments, Database) and bibliometric tools.
