The School of Mining and Geosciences at Nazarbayev University invites applications for a faculty position in Geology.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for (1) teaching geochemistry, mineralogy, field geology, and geophysics at the undergraduate and graduate levels, (2) contributing to the establishment of the teaching collections of petrology of the School of Mining and Geosciences, (3) establishing world-class research projects in partnership with the local mineral industry, and (4) mentoring junior faculty. Workload is distributed between teaching, research and service activities. Excellent communication skills and English fluency are required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a PhD degree in Geological Sciences with a proven research track record and teaching experience commensurate with appointment rank.

Additional Information

The appointment is a 3-year renewable contract subject to annual performance reviews. An attractive remuneration package for international faculty members includes:
