Job Description

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the School of Engineering and Digital
Sciences (seng.nu.edu.kz) invites applications for an instructor, assistant or an associate
professor position to begin from August 2021. Preferred candidates should have sufficient
research and laboratory/practical based teaching experience/background or strong willingness for self-development to laboratory/practical based teaching a number of related electrical and computer engineering courses from the following areas: embedded systems design, mechatronic system design, power engineering, system programming and software engineering and/or applied mathematics and machine learning.

We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in both research and hardware–oriented teaching. Applicants should have been awarded a PhD or equivalent degree from a reputable university, and are expected to have in top ranked journals/conferences in the areas of their expertise. The successful candidate should have research leadership capabilities and possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills. Only active researchers with a growing scientific profile and hardware-based experience will be considered; experience in industry and the alignment with thematic areas of the department would be favorably considered. Applicants to the Associate Professor position should have been previously appointed as assistant professors or equivalent in a reputable university and demonstrate substantial publication record in high-impact factor journals.
