Job Description

 Psychologist is imposed with the following functions:

1)       conducting individual and group consultations for the students of Nazarbayev University;

2)       providing crisis psychological assistance to the students;

3)       organizing and conducting master classes, seminars, and trainings on the psychological health of University students;

4)       conducting masterclasses for the employees of the Division on completed training programs as part of professional development;

5)       development of training programs in the context of improving the psychological health of students;

6)       interaction with structural divisions of the University that work with students on the issues related to the well-being and mental health of students;

7)       conducting informational sessions to improve students' psychological literacy;

8)       regular professional development through participation in seminars, conferences, training programs, intensives, ten-day campaigns, and master classes;

9)       participation in the process of planning the Division's budget, as well as preparing annual reports;

10)  participation in identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised field;

11)  timely and proper fulfillment of other orders of the Head of division and the University management within the framework of his/her responsibilities and powers.

Qualifications

Education

Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with the English language of instruction;

Preferably a Master's degree or a Specialist in Psychology, Pedagogy, and Psychology, or Psychotherapy. 

It is preferable to have a certificate of professional training for at least 1 year in one of the areas of psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt therapy, psychodrama, transactional analysis, psychoanalysis, etc.).

Qualifications

- Psychology;

- Psychotherapy;

- Pedagogy and psychology;

- Psychological consultation;

Work experience

It is preferable to have at least 3 years of experience as a Psychologist, Psychotherapist in educational institutions, medical institutions, private practice, documented (certificate of registration)

  • Knowledge of the Ethical code of Psychologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • analytical and creative abilities;
  • skills in preparing reports and analytical notes;
  • ability to work with MSOffice programs;
  • Fluency in Kazakh, English, and Russian.
