Nazarbayev University is a modern and rapidly developing university located in Nur-Sultan city, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Office of Enrollment Management is a structural division of the autonomous organization of education Nazarbayev University which is responsible for the strategic planning of the enrollment of applicants/candidates to study at the University under all academic programs the University as well as planning, implementation, and coordination of recruiting events to attract applicants/candidates to the academic programs of the University.

Job Description

The General Manager of the Ofice of Enrollment Management implements the following tasks:

1) Assists in the strategic planning of the enrollment of applicants/candidates to study at the University under the following programs: Foundation, Undergraduate, Zero Year of Master`s Programs, Master’s and PhD programs (hereinafter – academic programs of the University);

2) plans and monitors the Division’s budget in collaboration with the Head of the Division;

3) coordinates and assists in the organization of recruiting events to attract applicants/candidates to the academic programs of the University;

4) timely develops a work plan within the Division’s activities together with the Head of the Division;

5) participates in preparation and coordination of the implementation of the Division’s Operational plan and makes proposals on University Strategic plan;

6) coordinates the development of report information on the work done by the employees and the Division’s activity; 

7) analyses the Division’s activities to improve its performance;

8) makes decisions in identification, evaluation, management, and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction;

9) makes proposals and participation in the development of normative legal acts, plans, programs, and recommendations in the field of education, as well as regulatory documents of the University within the competence of the Division;

10) proves effective communications with state bodies, educational organizations and institutions, international partners, and structural divisions of the University on issues within the competence of the Division;

11) timely and properly executes the tasks of the Head and the University`s management;

12) observes the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Employer`s internal documents;

13) is responsible for exercising the labor and performance discipline;

14) is responsible for ensuring the integrity of official documents, and prevention of the disclosure or leakage of confidential and business information, as well as information of restricted access in accordance with the legislation, Charter and internal documents of the Employer;

15) in case of dismissal, is responsible for the timely transfer of all paper documentation, digital information, inventory to another employee as instructed by the Head (to be certified by the act of acceptance-transfer).

Qualifications

Education:

- Higher professional education, preferable from a higher educational institution with the English language of instruction

- A Master’s degree

Work experience:

- Minimum seven years in the relevant field with at least three of them supervising people

- Minimum five years with a Ph.D. degree in the relevant area

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of education

- Knowledge of and proficiency in English, Kazakh, and Russian

- High level of knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Skills:

- Problem-solving skills with high-level of innovative and creative approach

- Strong analytical skills to interpret and evaluate large quantities of information from multiple sources to support decision-making

- Ability to formulate policies for a function or area of work

- Skills to prepare reports, analytical notes, the budget of the Division
