Job Description

1) assisting the Head in coordinating the Hardware Office (Desktops, Laptops and Devices)  (hereinafter - the Office) to ensure a high level of service and user satisfaction;
2) control the successful implementation of relevant projects within the framework of the Unit's strategy, within its competence;
3) control of ensuring uninterrupted operation of end user equipment;
4) control of maintenance of working condition, as well as inspection and preventive checks of equipment with the pole of timely detection and elimination of faults;
5) assisting the Head and the Chief Information Officer in coordinating and monitoring the implementation of contracts and budget items within its competence;
6) control over development and approval of documentation (specifications, expert reports, etc.) for the purchase of necessary goods, works and services;
7) assistance in developing and planning the implementation of the Unit's strategy within its competence;
8) proactive identification, management and resolution of complex issues and risks to prevent their escalation to the maximum extent possible;
9) сcontinuous interaction and cooperation with users, in order to properly define expectations and build trust with users;
10) effective cooperation, communication and presentation at various levels, within its competence;
11) performance of the duties of the employees of the Office entrusted by the Head during their temporary absence (business trip, social leave, regular work leave, temporary disability);
12) participation in identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction; 
13) timely and proper fulfillment of other orders of the Head  and the University management within the framework of his/her responsibilities and powers.
 

Qualifications

Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction
Priority specializations:
- computer science or related field;
- information technology management;
- engineering.

Relevant work experience in the field of IT: at least seven years;


- Management experience in implementing and maintaining business and technical office systems is preferable.
- Experience of managing a designated user service team is preferable.
- Knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of information and education;
- Knowledge of international standards in Information Technology (hereinafter - IT) sphere;
- Negotiation, budgeting, risk and project management skills.

Knowledge in the following:
- end user equipment and software;
- principles of operation and configuration of video conferencing equipment;
- principles of construction, architecture, maintenance of local networks;
- systems of the organization of complex protection of the information, ways of prevention of unauthorized access to the information (in a network);
- technical and operational characteristics, design features, objectives and modes of operation of peripheral equipment;
- rules for technical documentation;
- change and project management skills to manage one or more large and complex programs/projects simultaneously;
- development of rules and policies;
- preparation and delivery presentation skills;
- availability of certificates in IT relevant to the performance of these functions (desirable);
- professional possession of MSOffice programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
