Job Description
- provides administrative support for General Manager within the area of his/her competence;
- maintains employee files and records in electronic and paper form, including:
- entering and updating employee data to the HR information system (hereinafter – HRIS);
- ensuring that all information on employee status is entered to HRIS (sick leaves, paid/unpaid leaves, business trips);
- compiling, organizing, and updating personal files of the School employees (diplomas, certificates, criminal background checks, military service records, etc.);
- prepares and amends where necessary HR documents, i.e. employment contracts, decisions on hiring, transfer, termination (including clearance sheets), etc.;
- ensures that the School follows the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the University policies and procedures within the area of his/her competence;
- assists with payroll by preparing and providing the Department of Finance with timesheets of the School employees (keeps track of employee's paid and unpaid leaves, business trips, sick leaves);
- administers disciplinary cases within the School;
- helps, organizes and manages new employee orientation, on-boarding, and training programs;
- prepares, manages and stores HR related paperwork and submits it to the University archive;
- consultation of the School employees on the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the University policies and procedures within the area of his/her competence;
- assists the processes of risks identification, assessment, management, monitoring within the framework of the supervised area;
- timely and proper fulfillment of other tasks of the Head and the School management within the framework of his/her responsibilities and powers.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a higher education degree, preferable from the institutions with the English language of instruction;
Preferred majors are:
- Human Resources Management;
- Law;
- Finance;
- Economics
Required work experience:
- With a Master's degree, not less than 1 year of relevant work experience;
- With a Bachelor degree, at least 3 years of relevant work experience;
- or at least 2 years of work experience at the Nazarbayev University and/or its organizations;
The following professional competencies will be requried:
- Professional knowledge of the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of education;
- Human Resource Expertise – the knowledge of principles, practices, and functions of effective human resource management;
- Relationship Management – the ability to manage interactions to provide service and support the organization;
- Consultation – the ability to provide guidance to organizational stakeholders;
- Communication – the ability to effectively exchange information with stakeholders;

- Ethical Practice – the ability to integrate core values, integrity, and accountability throughout all organizational and business practices;
- Budget and Finance – the ability to understand the organization’s financial processes, sources of funding, expenditures, and budgeting;
- Understanding various HR software systems (1C: Enterprise, SAP, etc.)
- Fluency in Kazakh, Russian, and English languages.
