Company Description

1) Library collection development with e-resources in accordance with the profile of the Nazarbayev University and the information needs of users;

2) Ensuring effective access to e-resources;

3) Coordination of subscriptions and acquisitions of electronic resources and analysis of the effectiveness of their use;

4) Implementation of other tasks assigned to the Service.

Job Description

  • 1.     participation in the organization of completing the Library Fund with electronic resources;
  • 2.     purchase of electronic resources, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes and other tools that support the learning process;
  • 3.     control of purchased electronic resources and control of funds (in terms of purchases made by a Senior Manager) allocated for the purchase of electronic resources, as well as control of their use;
  • 4.     participation in the formation of the budget request of the E-Resources Management Office   (hereinafter - the “Office”) for the corresponding financial year in accordance with the administered budget items;
  • 5.     preparation of documentation for purchasing / subscribing electronic resources, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes, and other tools that support the learning process;
  • 6.     keeping records of purchased electronic resources, including collections of e-books, databases of electronic journals, access codes, and other tools that support the learning process;
  • 7.     keeping records of funds allocated for the purchase of electronic resources within the framework of initiated purchases, including collections of electronic books, databases of electronic journals, access codes and other tools that support the learning process, as well as their use;
  • 8.     participation in  identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks   within the framework of supervised direction;
  • 9.     timely and proper fulfillment of other orders of the Head  and the University management within the framework of his/her responsibilities and powers.

Qualifications

Higher-professional, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction

Priority specializations:

  • - Library and information science;
  • - Librarianship;
  • - Finance;
  • - Management;
  • - Business administration

Work experience must meet one of the following requirements:

with Master's degree, professional experience should be not less than 5 years in the areas corresponding to functional areas of a specific position; or

with Specialist or Bachelor degree, work experience should be at least 7 years in the areas corresponding to the functional areas of a given position in the public service, international and/or national companies, or at least 3 years of work experience at the University and/or its organizations.
