Nazarbayev University is an English-language research university, created in 2010 with the support of other leading university partners around the world. NU’s international partners include six of the top 30 universities in the world, including Duke University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Cambridge University, University College London and National University of Singapore. Admission to NU is highly competitive. Applications are invited for the post of postdoctoral scholar in applied mathematics at the Department of Mathematics at Nazarbayev University.  The successful applicant will be expected to undertake research in any area of applied mathematics.  Applicants in optimization are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline, obtained within the last two years.

Conditions of employment: Nazarbayev University offers a competitive compensation package, free housing, no-cost medical insurance and a relocation allowance. The term of the initial appointment is two years, with a possible renewal for a maximum of another two years based on performance.  The teaching load is one course per year.
