Job Description

Duties of Teaching Assistant: 

  1. Grading assignments and exams and recording grades for History of Kazakhstan;
  2. Holding tutorials and in-class activities under the supervision of the instructor;
  3. Proctoring exams;
  4. Providing academic assistance to students during office hours;
  5. Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean;
  6. TA should attend a minimum of 90% of lectures (or equivalent) for the relevant course; 
  7. TA may also provide support for School research projects, subject to the written approval of Department Chair; 
  8. TA may give lectures (less than 10% of the number of lectures in the course) if lectures are under the direct guidance of the appropriate faculty member and if the Dean of the School has provided written permission. 

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in History or Philosophy or Religious Studies or a related field is preferred.

Fluency in English and Kazakh languages is required.

A high level of PC skills (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office) and an experience of working with social media are highly desired.
