The Department of History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies department includes 18 members and offers a major in History and minors in History and Philosophy/Religious Studies. All of its members publish actively.

Job Description

The Department of History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies in the School of Sciences and Humanities at Nazarbayev University in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan invites applicants for full- or half-time instructor positions in the History of Kazakhstan. Successful candidates applying for either position will be expected to contribute to a team-taught History of Kazakhstan survey for first-year students. Full-time instructor will lead twelve discussion sections per week (a 4:4 load) with TA support while half-time instructor’s load will be six sections per week (a 2:2 load) with TA support.

Qualifications

The successful candidates must have a Master’s Degree in History or Eurasian Studies or related area in hand, and preference will be given to individuals with demonstrable knowledge of the region. The positions are available from August 2020. The contract will be for a period of three years (August 2020 -June 2023) on a renewable basis.
