Main functional responsibilities of the department: To provide psychological services to NU students

Job Description

·        Assist the Department Director in all department management aspects and his/her activity;

·        research activity;

·        development and implementation of Center`s concept together with Center`s employees in accordance with University strategy and tasks;

·        staff coordination, supervision, development and evaluation;

·        arranging rendering of crisis support to students, psychological consulting, promotion of psychological health and rendering consultancy services within University community;

·        arranging development of programs aimed at psychological climate improvement in the University, joint work with other University divisions in order to improve students life in cooperation with university committees and working groups;

·        quality monitoring with respect to preventive services rendered by the Center;

·        participation in risks identification, evaluation, management and monitoring, and formation of relevant accountability within the framework of supervised direction;

·        participation in consultancies with state bodies, other organizations, and university structural divisions within his/her competence;

·        coordinate decisions made in University structural divisions regarding the issues falling within his/her competence, and elimination of deficiencies detected;

Qualifications

- PhD or Master’s or Specialist’s degree with high level of academic preparation in the field of Psychology, Pedagogy and Psychology, Psychotherapy.

 Higher education institutions in North America, Europe, Australia, Japan, Singapore and other developed countries are preferable;

- Psychology;

- Psychotherapy;

- Psychological Counselling;

- Social work;

- Educational system;

And other related majors.

At least 5 years of work experience as a psychologist, psychotherapist.

Additional Information

Professional skills

- Ability to effectively perform tasks set to Psychological Counseling Center;

- knowledge of the Ethics Code of psychologists of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

- fluency in Kazakh, English and Russian;

- ability to work with Word, Excel, Power Point;

- analytical and creative skills, reports and analytical notes preparation skills, management skills (leadership skills, ability to make decisions, aims setting and planning).
