Key and functional tasks of the unit

Cosmology Theory, Data, and Instrumentation (Electronics & VHDL/FPGA ). PI of ECL project is George Smoot, Nobel Laureate in Physics. The ECL project is implemented with the collaboration of University California in Berkley and Astrophysics Institute in Paris.

Job Description

-to work with electronics hardware or firmware coding;

-to do experiments with MKIDs cryogenic sensor data acquisition systems

-to work with high frequency frontier of electronics and FPGA programming.

Direct involvement in the design of automation systems for accounting of the equipment, estimation of its hardware parameters and working time;

- Participation in the manufacturing of parts and components of automation systems;

- Launch, testing and further paperwork of automation systems, turning them into the operating mode;

- Repair and maintenance of the equipment;

- Collaboration with the research team on the issues of working with the equipment;

-training  and internship in University of California in Berkeley (USA) and Astrophysics Institute in Paris

- Working with the equipment database.

- provision of technical specifications for purchased equipment and consumables

Qualifications

Education

Higher, masters, specialist or bachelor’s degree in:

-Physics

-Engineering science

-Computer science

-Robotics

Desired professional experience (duration, region, industry, etc.)

Research work experience not less than 1 year in the field of scientific research;

Availability of research experience and the availability of scientific papers, publications in

foreign scientific journals with impact factor and reports at international conferences;

Experience in physics, astrophysics and cosmology;

Knowledge and high level of competence in the relevant field of science;

Fundamental and / or applied research experience;

Experience in work with students in English.

Additional Information

Professional knowledge and personal characteristics

Theoretical background in physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, electronics and mechanics;

- Knowledge of installation methods and adjustment of electronic equipment;

- Knowledge of rules and procedures of testing the electrical equipment and taking electrical measurements;

- Knowledge of rules, regulations, safety requirements, labor protection, fire safety and industrial hygiene;

- Absence of bad habits.

Language proficiency level

Excellent spoken and written skills in English

Personal computer skills (programs, degree of ownership)

Advanced user of PC, knowledge of programming languages. Knowledge of Assembler is preferred. Experience in working with databases.
