Job Description

Nazarbayev University's School of Engineering invites applications for three full-time faculty positions to start in August 2019 at the MSc in Industrial and Systems Engineering Program. The three faculty positions are in the following two areas: 

1.       Industrial Digitalization (Digital Transformation and Technologies, IoT, Digital Twins, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Enterprise Modelling and Simulation)

2.       Maintenance Engineering (Asset Management, System Reliability and Human Factors)

 

Nazarbayev University is a new Western style, English-speaking University established in 2011. We seek candidates with a commitment to excellence in both research and teaching. Applicants should have been awarded a PhD or equivalent degree from a reputable university, and are expected to have publications in top ranked journals/conferences in the areas of their expertise. Experience in industry and the alignment with thematic areas of the department would be favorably considered.

The School of Engineering, Nazarbayev University, offers Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD programs, and attracts some of the best students in the country. The programs emphasize research and inquiry-based learning, and is aimed to follow a low student-to-faculty ratio of about 10:1.

Nazarbayev University is aspiring to be a research intensive international university, thus we are interested in recruiting and maintaining a diverse group of research intensive faculty.

Initial appointment is on a 3-year renewable contract and subsequent appointments can be 5-year/3-year renewable subject to annual performance reviews. An attractive internationally competitive remuneration package will include: Internationally competitive salary; A startup grant for conference travels and building collaborations; Holiday leave of 56 days per annum; Two flights for the appointee and dependents home per annum; International health insurance; Rent-free housing for the appointee and dependents; Assistance for relocation expenses including air fares for the appointee and dependents; and an educational allowance for dependent children.
