WIL OFFICER

  • Full-time

Company Description

At ACAP we change lives. We equip our students with a deep understanding of human behaviour, the skills to make a positive difference and the resilience to enjoy long, healthy careers.

ACAP University College, part of the leading global education provider Navitas, is Australia's leading independent tertiary education provider, delivering accredited courses in psychology, social work, counselling, coaching, criminology, law, and business management and leadership (MBA).

Job Description

Our WIL Officers coordinate the end-to-end work integrated learning (WIL)/placement process — but more than that, they're relationship-builders who know how to open doors. This role requires someone with genuine business development instincts: a natural networker who can engage stakeholders internally and externally, build trust quickly, and convert those relationships into real placement opportunities for students. Alongside strong BD and stakeholder engagement skills, the role covers student preparation, placement allocation, registration, documentation, and ongoing communication with students and host organisations, plus accurate and confidential record-keeping to support audit, accreditation, and reporting requirements.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Drive business development by proactively sourcing new host organisations and converting stakeholder relationships into placement opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with WIL partners and internal stakeholders, using confident, persuasive communication to grow placement capacity
  • Manage national WIL programs and student placements, from matching and shortlisting through to confirmation and finalisation, in line with accreditation and legislative requirements
  • Coordinate placement administration, documentation, and record-keeping to support audit and compliance
  • Provide timely, professional communication with students and host organisations, and prepare students for placement
  • Deliver orientation sessions and workshops, and resolve WIL issues as they arise

The role can be based at Melbourne or Adelaide.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in tertiary education, WIL/placement administration or student administration
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in managing administrative processes, student records, and compliance documentation
  • High level of computer literacy, including advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and student placement software such as Sonia and student management systems
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills, including professional correspondence with students and external partners
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment
  • Flexibility and proven adaptability to changing systems, processes, and personnel responsibilities
  • Experience in student engagement (preferred).
  • Knowledge of accreditation requirements and regulatory frameworks relevant to professional placements (preferred).
  • Existing networks in industries relevant to WIL disciplines (preferred).
