Job Description

Join our dynamic National Student Engagement team as an International Student Engagement Coordinator. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting initiatives relating to international students and driving the engagement and retention of international students using data driven analysis to achieve commercial outcomes. Working with Campus teams, the International Student Engagement Coordinator will deliver multi-channel communication and engagement strategies that support student engagement, progression, completion and other metrics.

Student Progression

  • Monitor the success and progress of all international students, determine and resolve root causes of student challenges, intervene when necessary by facilitating referral to appropriate support specialists and follow up to ensure success
  • Assisting individual students, in consultation with academic and discipline skill development, language enhancement and assessments
  • Identify and support at-risk students according to the At Risk/Intervention Framework and Course Progression processes
  • Coach individual students to provide support for their overall engagement and wellbeing, and refer students to appropriate ACAP student support services such as Counsellors, Social Worker or Academic Skills Advisors as appropriate
  • Work with students to develop plans for success, integrating reasonable adjustments if necessary, that will prompt them to seek necessary resources and take an active approach to their studies

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulatory environment including ESOS Act, National Code, PRISMS, applicable visa rules and any other regulatory frameworks that may apply
  • Undertake research, investigate options, devise solutions and provide advice on complex international student issues
  • Ensure compliance with specific requirements of professional accreditation bodies in Psychology, Counselling and Social Work or other as required
  • Regularly review and update International Student Orientation materials to ensure compliance
  • Ensure you are aware of and adhere to legislation and College policy relevant to the duties undertaken


Data Management & Reporting

  • Monitor and control the integrity of data held within the student management system and PRISMS, ensuring that appropriate plans are in place to manage and audit data as necessary
  • Generate reports including analysis of student and academic data to drive student engagement outcomes

Knowledge Sharing

  • Ensure student feedback is being appropriately captured and reported on so that solutions can be found and continual improvement occurs.
  • Use continuous improvement methodologies to identify new approaches to student engagement and retention.

Stakeholders

  • Work with leadership and campus stakeholders to educate the business on international student insights to enhance College student metrics.
  • Engage and support college stakeholders in customer service enhancements.
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with a network of colleagues, clients and stakeholders, such as ACAP’s Student Staff Consultative Committees and use these to identify and address student needs

 

Qualifications

Essential

  • Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of a degree, or completion
    of an associate diploma with at least two years’ subsequent relevant work experience.
  • You put the customer first and it is demonstrated. You create an environment which supports excellent customer service.
  • Skills in creating systems and processes which support customer driven outcomes
  • Skills in using data to support initiatives and decision making on an institution wide level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, using influence or reporting to achieve team objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to students, liaise with staff within the Colleges and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy including competence in using word processing, spreadsheets, and record keeping software.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all administrative activities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and in a way that is flexible and adaptable
  • Highly developed relationship management and negotiation skills together with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed with an ability to identify, secure and nurture opportunities and relationships.
  • Strong commitment to personal excellence and achievement of targets and high professional standards.
  • Self-disciplined and independently driven but able to work effectively in a team environment with shared goals.
  • Willingness to embrace change within a dynamic environment of systems, processes and personnel responsibilities.
