The Deakin University Lancaster University Indonesia campus will open to students in September 2025, initially offering five dual degree undergraduate programs in the areas of Business and Information Technology. The campus will also offer a one-year preparatory program as a direct pathway to the three-year undergraduate programs.
The Indonesia campus is located in Bandung, West Java, which is recognised as an important and vibrant location for higher education in Indonesia. Students and teachers will be part of a thriving education community attracting diverse student cohorts from across Indonesia and globally.
Job Description
The Student and Academic Services Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of student and academic services, administrative processes and the development of a service-oriented Student and Academic Services team.
The position will provide strategic and operational input to assist decision-making and manage relationships between administration and students services staff and other functional areas across the Deakin University Lancaster University Indonesia (DLI) campus.
KEY RESULT AREAS
- Lead and manage the development and implementation of consistent, streamlined and high quality student and academic services
- Ensure teams maintain knowledge of current policies, procedures and regulations to provide accurate advice to students and staff
- Apply expertise and provide guidance to staff on more difficult cases and on implementing policies, procedures, legislation, student rules, regulations and documented user procedures
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in student and academic services
- Represent the Campus in a range of forums and events to internal and external audiences
- Initiate and manage activities to support the relevant Campus plans as they relate to student and academic services
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with University partners
- Collaborate with Navitas Group IT in the maintenance of data integrity, system improvements and reporting to regulatory authorities
Student Administration team functions:
- Provide effective leadership, management and supervision to teams supporting activities within the student life cycle, including orientation, enrolment, exams, results, student progression, course completion, awards, scholarships, graduation, and overall student experience.
- Oversee Student Connect and Student Support enquiry functions and ensure accurate, high-quality advice is provided in a timely manner
- Develop annual academic calendars that incorporate all associated Campus activities for relevant approvals
- Oversee the administration of student and staff evaluations and the development of subsequent reports and action plans
- Oversee the development of academic timetables on a trimester basis
- Oversee the student and academic data collections, and provide support to DLI academic and corporate governance
- Oversee routine campus maintenance, in conjunction with the facilities management service provider
Academic Administration team functions:
- Provide effective leadership, management and supervision to teams supporting academic administration activities including module version control and streaming processes; end of semester systems rollovers to subsequent teaching periods; internal and external moderation; class timetabling and textbook/resources availability (library & online data bases)
- Ensure timely support of administrative processes for teaching staff
Qualifications
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant work experience within the education industry or related area, including experience in the Indonesian education system
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Well-developed time management and organisational skills
- High levels of initiative and problem solving skills
- Relevant and recent experience in service provision management, preferably in a higher education setting
- Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills
- Strong commitment to high quality customer service
- Demonstrated conversational and written fluency and acuracy in English and Indonesian
Desirable
- Experience in student administration/student services in the higher education sector
