Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Architect/Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, and integration of complex robotic systems. Your expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and familiarity with tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, or similar, will be pivotal in shaping the architecture and ensuring the success of our projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to the agile software development process.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Utilize your substantial experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to design and develop robust and scalable software architectures for our robotic systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to define system requirements, interfaces, and interactions.
- Leverage your expertise with tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, or similar, to create detailed system models, diagrams, and documentation to guide the development process.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software architecture and system engineering across the organization.
- Work in an agile software development environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies and tools to enhance system performance, maintainability, and reliability.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in software architecture and system engineering principles.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record in roles such as System Engineer, Software Systems Engineer, or Software Architect.
- Extensive experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, IBM Rhapsody, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing software architectures for complex systems, ideally in the robotics or automation industry.
- Strong background in agile software development methodologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee will also be frequently required to stand.
- The employee must frequently lift, push, or pull equipment at a minimum of 15 pounds unassisted.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to climb ladders, maneuver in tight spaces, and stand for extended periods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment and in industrial environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This role will require travel to field sites. Conditions may include exposure to heat, loud environments, small vessel maritime conditions, and 12-hour shifts.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
