Job Description

Nauticus Robotics, Inc. is looking for a talented and motivated developer to create a next-generation operator experience for novel automation systems. We are interested in candidates with an intuitive sense for good design, are passionate about presenting information to operators (visual and non-visual), and are simply intrigued by the interaction between human and machine systems. 

 

We are looking for someone who understands that the status quo in robotics is simply not good enough and are looking to fundamentally impact the way human operators supervise autonomous systems. 

FOR CONSIDERATION

  • This is an on-site position; you must be available to commute or relocate.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Collaborate with the team to define and implement innovative solutions for human-machine interaction. 
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and process flows to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. 
  • Implement front-end and back-end functionality to support operating complex robotic platforms. 
  • Implement automated testing of interfaces against requirements and expectations. 
  • Help to establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • College degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience 
  • Team player and enjoys working in a high-tempo environment that is driven by aggressive development schedules 
  • Experience working in an Agile development process 
  • Programming experience with the following technologies:  Vue/Vuex, JavaScript, CSS, Webpack, WebGL, three.js, Mapbox, Leaflet.js, Docker 

PREFERRED 

  • 5+ years of proven UI development experience 
  • Linux experience 
  • Python experience 
  • C++ experience 
  • ROS experience 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is primarily sedentary in nature. However, the duties of this job, will require the ability to walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing some duties of this job, the employee may be required to travel domestically and internationally. This role may also require exposure to a variety of construction and/or offshore platforms and job sites on various bodies of water. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.  

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
