Job Description

Summary

In this role, you will evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of electricity and materials.

Essential Duties 

  • Complete embedded software development and PCBA design
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical systems and electronics hardware
  • Complete system level designing from wire harnessing to interfacing COTS and custom electronics
  • Handle the full design cycle for new electronics development (concept, schematic design, PCB design, manufacture, build, test)
  • Build, troubleshoot and fix electronics/electrical hardware
  • Design and execute functional (or environmental) testing, writing test support software for DAQ systems, and reporting on results are also expected in this position

    Qualifications

    Required

    • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. MS degree in related field preferred
    • 5 -7 years of electronics and embedded experience
    • 2-4 years’ experience using Altium Designer to design custom electrical circuits and PCBs
    • Experience with a real-world robotic platform and/or robotics hardware
    • Ability to build, troubleshoot and fix electronics/electrical hardware
    • Experience with microcontrollers 
    • Experience with various field bus protocols (CAN, RS485/232, Ethernet/EtherCAT)
