Job Description
Natixis in Portugal is currently seeking a Developer Mainframe Programmer to join its Payments team, within the IT (Information Technologies) department.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mainframe technologies, including DB2 and JCL, and will be proficient in both English and French. This role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing mainframe applications to meet business requirements and improve operational efficiency. Experience in the banking sector is a valuable asset that will enhance your contribution to our team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop, test and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system enhancements.
- Monitor and optimize performance of mainframe applications and databases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mainframe systems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for programs, processes, and procedures.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Support end-users by providing technical assistance and training as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in mainframe development.
Qualifications
Hard Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience in Mainframe, specifically with COBOL, JCL and DB2.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English - minimum B2 level (mandatory).
- Proficiency in French - minimum B2 level (mandatory).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Availability to travel abroad for short periods of time, if required.
