We are looking for a System Administrator to work within our business end user environment.
As a part of one of these teams, you will work closely with our development teams, will be expected to develop technical and functional knowledge and handle support for systems and applications, to be pro-active towards incident management and about identifying effective solutions to recurrent incidents, to continuously improve and automate procedures, to keep documentation up to date and to keep up with the dev team with regular follow-ups.

 

Missions:

  • Develop and establish common practices & standards for increasing the resilience of services
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology to improve the existing ecosystem
  • Manage different stakeholders across different and complex distributed systems
  • Monitor applications and infrastructure in an effective way, compliant with the established SLA for all business lines, with reliability and scalability in mind
  • Work on development and operations activities, under a DevOps practice, build and promote CI/CD approach on systems and applications
  • Effectively manage and solve production incidents or requests
  • Set up and manage indicators of proper operation of the application
  • Establish traceability on the availability of the application
  • Implement solutions to check the availability of the application to the user
  • Ensure the relationship with the publisher of the application and with the remote monitors of the establishments
  • Manage app version upgrades with the publisher
  • Participate in change management (applications and infrastructure), which involves collaborating with different teams
  • Keep documentation up to date: document the components and operations of the applications (architecture, procedures, supervision need, workflows)
  • Work with the development teams on defining the architecture of new applications, according to the infrastructure standards
  • Work closely with developers to assist them in adopting and improving their use of existing tools and practices such as alerting, obsolescence, vulnerabilities
  • Engage with other platform teams at BPCE to evaluate tooling, iterate on our incident response process, and hold effective post-mortems
  • Design, code, and operate tools and systems to reduce the amount of time and effort needed by our engineers to scale our products.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation alongside the engineers who build our products.

Qualifications

Main Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a Software, Infrastructure, Systems, and/or Site Reliability Engineering role
  • Good knowledge on both Linux and Windows environments
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python and/or PowerShell)
  • Experience with Web Servers (Tomcat, Apache, NGINX, IIS and/or others)
  • Experience with databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle and/or others)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (ideally Zabbix) and knowledge with dashboarding tools (ideally Grafana)
  • Experience with events/data exploration tools (Splunk)
  • Knowledge of LDAP, Firewall, Reverse proxy, Active Directory and Kerberos
  • Good networking knowledge

Other Requirements:

  • Good level of French – minimum C1 (mandatory)
  • Good level of English - minimum B2
  • On call duty required
  • DevOps mindset
  • Knowledge of infrastructure orchestration (ex: Terraform) and others devops tools
  • Ability to keep up with a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and evolve
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
