The messaging team manages the backbones and service offers providing means to exchange real-time messages and events between applications. These services play a critical part of the banking services, as they provide a data exchange layer for more 240 applications in total, including the main trading and payment services, anti-fraud checks, monitoring pipelines, global collection for Theia services and more.

This team works on a mostly 60/40 ratio between Operational Condition Maintenance and projects.

As a IBM MQ administrator in this team, you will maintain and transform the IBM MQ infrastructures and offers for the BPCE-IT group as a whole, and ensure that these transformations match the objectives of the group. You will also provide support, advice and technical expertise to business projects, design and build large scale IBM MQ infrastructure, conceive IBM MQ containerized subscriptions on the company’s internal cloud, implement automation, self-service and access security as well as API-driven management on these services.

As part of the Messaging team you will also acquire skills in the other messaging services (including Kafka).

As a IBM MQ administrator, you will join a team of 6 technical experts to maintain and transform the BPCE group’s messaging offers and backbones.

The first missions of your team will be focused on the IBM MQ services. As a senior specialist of IBM MQ services, you will not only be responsible for the operational condition maintenance of the IBM MQ infrastructures and services, but also take a critical role in the transformation and improvement of these services, including related automation, API and self-service developments. You will also be the product owner for the IBM MQ as a service offer on MyCloud Liberty (the group’s container-based private cloud) and the IBM MQ configurations self-service.

The messaging team also manages the Kafka network of the BPCE group, which entails several backbone clusters for both business and technical services. You will acquire skills in the Kafka field and help the Kafka experts in maintaining the operational conditions of the Kafka network and help its transformations.

In addition to IBM MQ and Kafka, you will manage and plan the transformation of other products, including IBM Transformation Extender (a real-time enterprise integration service) and active MQ.

Support on all these products and offers are level 3 of service, and include on-duty shifts.

Missions:

  1. Organize advisory support for development teams, and exploitation support for production teams using IBM MQ services.
  2. Participate to the transfer of the IBM MQ management activity between the French legacy messaging team and Porto messaging team.
  3. Ensure the state-of-the-art exploitation of IBM MQ infrastructures and offers.
  4. Implement the transformation of IBM MQ infrastructures and offers towards increased automation, self-service and containerization.
  5. Improve the resiliency, security, and recovery ability, and ensure that the services are refreshed on a regular basis, and kept up-to-date.

Qualifications

Main Technical Requirements: 

  • Solid knowledge of IBM MQ infrastructures’ administration (IBM certification will be a plus)
  • Basic shell knowledge in Linux
  • Elementary knowledge of network management concepts under Linux
  • The knowledge of Python will be a plus
  • Learn to know all the information systems of the group's entities

Other Requirements:

  • English level B2
  • French is a plus.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Autonomous, while capable of working within a team and with other teams and/or experts
  • Fast learner, easy to adapt, team worker
