Job Description

Team presentation and main goal:

The Compliance area ensures business follows external as well as internal rules and policies, and also internal controls, protecting therefore business activities and employees from non-compliance risks.

At Natixis Portugal, Compliance provides specialized services for worldwide GFS and Groupe BPCE.

Natixis is seeking a talented professional to oversee and execute operational, organizational, reporting, and administrative matters relating to the Compliance team, with a focus on Compliance policies and procedures governance and conduct related metrics reporting. The successful candidate will be data analytical and detail oriented, with the ability to produce reports and presentations to management in a clear way, as well as identify potential areas of improvements for governance processes. The individual would work particularly closely with all functions within Compliance and collaborate with key areas such as Technology, Internal Audit, among others.

The Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting the broader team as follows:

  1. Responsible for Conduct related metrics reporting across the CIB Americas platform within Compliance as well as all other Business Units (Front Office, Legal, Operations, IT, Credit and Market Risk, and, as appropriate, Human Resources, among others).
  2. Compile and analyze other monthly and quarterly reporting, both locally and to Head Office, including quantitative and qualitative information for various levels of management and governance committees
  3. Support the development and maintenance of the compliance risk management framework which includes policies and procedure governance and other processes, governance, and documentation, as necessary

Main tasks and goals:

Primary Job Description Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of a compliance risk management framework, with a focus on Compliance policies and procedures, and assisting with Compliance trainings management as needed.
  • Performing analyses, document findings, and prepare materials for presentation to senior management, with a focus on conduct metrics.
  • Analyzing reporting inputs and outputs to suggest potential improvements or alignment/consistency on processes, information, and data across the Compliance teams.
  • Documenting procedures, maintaining and enhancing governance and controls that support the compliance risk framework and demonstrate sustainability
  • Leading and/or participating in ad hoc projects and working groups
  • Contributing to the execution of various activities common across the Compliance teams (e.g., internal audits, exams, etc.) to consolidate updates/reporting and ensure consistency and alignment across functions
  • Compiling and reviewing various Compliance information and data used for reporting
  • Analyzing/tracking risks for the Compliance teams, CCO, Head Office, and other governance committees
  • Identifying key CUSO Compliance themes, trends, or issues, including regulatory or issues management, and other transversal topics on an on-going basis for monitoring and/or escalation

Qualifications

  • 3 + years Compliance and/or project management experience, including gathering, collating, tracking and reporting data. Compliance and Conduct Tracking experience at an investment bank is a plus
  • Prior experience in creating trend dashboards using PowerBI
  • Prior experience of reporting to senior management committees and/or serving as a Governance Committee or Board Corporate Secretary is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills as well as communication and presentation skills
  • Prior experience of Core Compliance functions, including Registration, Personal Account Dealing, Outside Business Interests, Training and Electronic Communications are helpful.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint and strong knowledge of Power BI.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented with sound judgment and integrity.
  • Highly motivated and proactive; Strategic and goal-oriented focus.
  • Self-directed, with the ability to proactively identify and analyze problems, and propose viable solutions.
  • Can develop relationships across various stakeholders, including local and regional advisory Compliance staff, Technology and the Business.

Demonstrate capability of managing and prioritizing several activities simultaneously.
