We are looking for a Linux System Administrator (local contract) to join our BPCE IT business Unit.

The team Linux Operations is supporting the life cycle of Linux servers, from arrival/installations until end of life/decommissioning .

This perimeter needs to provide 24/7 support, due to several critical technical bricks supporting bank activity.

We are currently seeking an for a Linux System Administrator to join our team in major financial group. As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the stability, security, and performance of our critical Linux-based systems, ensuring seamless operation of the bank's IT infrastructure.

Main Tasks and Responsabilities:

• Manage, maintain, and monitor Linux servers and applications, including system updates, patching, and configuration management. 

• Perform regular system and security audits, vulnerability assessments, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. 

• Proactively identify and resolve system performance issues, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime. 

• Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues. 

• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain accurate records and facilitate knowledge sharing. 

• Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.

Main Technical Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

• Experience as a Linux System Administrator, preferably in the financial or banking sector. 

• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS) and system administration tools. 

• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Openstack) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift). 

• Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, and load balancing solutions. 

• Knowledge of storage solutions, such as SAN, NAS. 

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or Perl) for automation and process improvement. 

• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible) and version control systems (Git). 

• Understanding of ITIL principles and experience working within ITIL-based environments. 

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 

• Relevant certifications such as RHCE are a plus. 

Other requirements:

• Good level of English – minimum B2 level;
• French is a plus;
• Ability to keep up with a demanding and fast-paced environment;
• Good communication skills;
• Good priority definition skills;
• Know how on implementing pedagogy methods;
• Ability to work in a team.
