Job Description

The Finance Division creates its Finance Operational Center in Porto, with the transfer of a significant part of the activities from Paris to Porto in an extended team model organization, to transform, strengthen and develop activities, excellence and competitiveness.

The implementation phase started at the end of 2021 and the start of operational activities in Porto will be gradual over the 2 following years.

 The scope of Finance in Porto is the following:

  • FDI, Financial Data Integrity, in charge of the production and control level 1 of the elementary accounting information for CIB activities of Natixis;
  • MC&R, Metrics Calculation and Reporting, in charge of the calculation of solvency and Liquidity metrics and the production of external/internal reporting;
  •  SCA, Statutory Consolidated Accounting, in charge of the certification of Intragroup transactions and the validation/payment of Invoices and expenses;
  • FPC, Financial Permanent Control, in charge of the level 2 of control.

Main tasks and goals

The Head of Finance reports hierarchically to the Head of Banking Support Activities (BSA) in Porto and functionally to the Head of the Financial Control Department in Paris.

(S)He will manage a department of around 100 people belonging to the 4 different services in Paris. Within the framework of the extended team organization, the operational teams of Porto are hierarchically attached to a local manager also under the functional responsibility of a manager located in France who remotely manages the closing works done in Porto.

The Head of Finance in Porto remains the preferred contact of Paris for all the subjects linked to the activities and people from helping Paris to solve problem - if required - to create locally the environment for the development and the oversight of the teams.

(S)He ensures the daily management of the teams of Porto and manage all the topics pertaining to the function:

  • Lead, manage the teams while maintaining a reliable, inclusive and transformative environment;
  • Build the team, including recruitment, in coordination with Paris, stabilize and strengthen the set-up;
  • Define training plans, drive employee development, facilitate career development inside Finance and in the Company to build employee loyalty and manage retention;
  • Continuously ensure that resources are in line with operational requirements in order to provide a quality service, adapt the organization if necessary to better meet the assigned objectives;
  • Establish a strong and constructive partnership with Paris and all Finance support departments;
  • Being proactive in solving problems;
  • Coordinate, monitor and manage the budget in coordination with Finance in Porto and the Central Office in Paris;
  • Ensure quality of service: monitor production KPIs;
  • Organize the governance relating to the monitoring of the services provided, validate and guide the action plans according to the difficulties or incidents observed during the closing periods (oversight committee, transformation steering committee, performance review, etc.);
  • Contribute to the development and transformation of the Porto Hub by proposing initiatives or supporting those of the teams and supporting the projects of Porto and the group;
  • Lead the initiatives proposed by the teams in terms of optimization of the organization, processes or documentation as well as automation initiatives either through the development of BI tools or by evolutions of IT tools;
  • Represent the function or the company in group exchanges, seminars or events.

Periodic trips to Paris to be planned.

Qualifications

Need to have a solid experience in banking or financial environment (minimum of 15 years), team management and transformation projects.

 Hard Skills:

  • Banking experience (CIB environment is a plus), ideally in a large institution with a good knowledge of financial products and business lines;
  • Experience in managing and leading large teams;
  • Operational production experience in a constrained environment;
  •  Accounting and regulatory skills such as IFRS9, Basel III, BCBC239, etc.;
  • Experience in budget monitoring;
  • Fluent in English and French.

 Soft Skill:

  • Ability to federate, mobilize teams to achieve goals and develop their talent;

Lunch break. Outside in the big terrace (look at your crops at the Urban Garden; ready to harvest!) or, if you feel like stretching your legs, walk downtown to grab lunch.
 
Back inside. Quick sprint review (working together anywhere means virtual happy birthday to that colleague in Paris that just turned 35). The afternoon went flying (tasks, reports, calls, some jokes with your teammates). End it on a high note: just one PlayStation game or the final match for that ping-pong tournament.
 
Tomorrow, you complete that certified technical training and the day after, you will work from home, taking advantage to finally do that online course on Udemy. Once you are done with your tasks for the day, you can visit the office for a board games session or show up at the rehearsal of one of Natixis bands. If that is too steady for you, meet your colleagues to surf some waves or join them in a football match.
