Job Description

Your Role

Oversee inventory and maintaining proper quantities based on season and market demand while assisting with selling these products to customers and training staff about new and existing products

 

Key Expectations

  • Oversee all inventory of Garden Seventeen product, within your purchasing department, including being point of contact for vendor and customer communications
  • Manage proper inventory control to produce proper sales based on the seasonality of the industry
  • Manage efforts to develop and reinforce long-term vendor relationships
  • Research new product and material ideas with company brand and voice in mind

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean and efficient communication with all vendors, customers and General Manager throughout all ordering processes
  • Clearly communicate to all team members and customers order and product statuses, expected arrives, and general updates
  • Greet customers upon entry and exit of Garden Seventeen with a positive, welcoming attitude
  • Assist with selling material and product to customers throughout any given day with a professional and positive attitude
  • Keep customers informed and up to date about the industry, best practices, knowledge and company process throughout sales experience
  • Manage custom and special orders for customers and clearly communicate with customer to set proper expectations for product arrival and pick up or delivery
  • Proactively assist with cleaning and organizing of product on a daily basis
  • Proactively assist with plant cleanliness and maintenance on a daily basis
  • Have a radio/walkie-talkie with you at all times for in-house communications
  • Maintain all company property and devices with care and respect
  • Proactively contribute to workspace maintenance, cleanliness and basic customer communications
  • Proactively assist with labeling and processing-in material and product upon arrival as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous garden center experience preferred 
  • Previous product management/ ordering experience preferred
